Men will be Men?

Rajesh Patel (name changed) is a professional working in Andhra. He was not all that happy the day he left his family, comprising of his wife & a 5 year old daughter, to his wife's place in Gujarat. His wife was 8 months pregnant. He said that he missed his daughter terribly & to pass another one month without having them by his side seems to be a decade! The following evening, he had alcoholic drinks with his fellow colleagues.  Being a Gujarati, Rajesh was not known for drinking. Also he refrained himself from smoking cigarettes. Now, the point is to drink/smoke or not is everybody's personal preference and I am not representing any personal opinion here. No act is intended to be shown in bad light. Corrupt traffic police.... Shame!

These are days of the Lokpal. What a common man like me understands by this is that the bill is, by someway, going to reduce the corruption. Hope that only happens! Well, this evening I set out to the Nirmal Lifestyles Mall in Mulund, Mumbai. I was passing by the street where this road traffic police had been talking with a car driver (or owner, may be). This young driver, upon the police's asking him his license, went behind the police and handed over a Rs. 100 note to him. The police took it readily and without uttering a word, let the boy go. This, what I saw, is a shocking experience for me for I'd only heard about these things in the past but got to see it for the first time. All I could do within these 5 seconds of act between the boy and the police is to stare them with some kind of weird look that had an expression of both shock and anger.
